System Information: Right-click on the "My Computer" icon on the desktop, then click on "Properties." Configuration Commands:
TO SEARCH FOR A WORD WITHIN A WEB SITE: Click
on your Google Tool Bar when you're at the site you want to search. If you're not using Google Tool Bar, then in any Google search field: enter your search word or phrase followed by a space and then "Site:" (notice the colon, and don't include the quote marks) followed
immediately (no space!) by the site you want to search for that term
on. Here's an example search string we could enter
in the box above
that would help us find the word "tour" used anywhere on the web site
Copy the line above and insert it into any Google search field and it should yield at six results. Keep in mind that some webmasters cleverly shield their sites from this means of search. For example, the heart disease-loving pigs at McDonalds continue to use hydrogenated oil in many of their ingedients yet if you use this method on their site to search for "hydrogenated" no results are found (while there are actually lots of pages with lots of fattening ingredients that include this word).
Search Engine Privacy: To help preserve your privacy, don't use search engines when you are logged into any services provided by Google, Microsoft, or Yahoo! Use another browser (in which you are not logged into anything Google, including gmail, YouTube, Hotmail, FaceBook, etc.) when using a search engine. Click here for instructions on how to remove your Google search history from your Google account.
† Q: What makes Instagram the dumbest photo sharing site ever? A: The fact that the clowns at Facebook (now owners of Instagram) have gone out of their way to make it nearly impossible to save images [locally] that your friends and family have shared.
